At Leeds Beckett University, we work with thousands of businesses, providing a wide range of skills and support to help businesses to grow and thrive. We have a strong history of supporting early stage businesses through our University Business Centre, which are currently home to over 230 small businesses. 
 
We provide a range of tailored support to businesses including access to funding, business advice, mentoring, professional training, networking events, affordable office space, free business lounges, access to academic research expertise, knowledge transfer activities and access to graduate talent. 
 
In the past 15 years Leeds Beckett University Business Centres have successfully supported more than 800 businesses to grow, creating over 1,300 jobs and with collective turnover in xcess of £42 million. 
 
Our business centre support is proven to almost double early stage sustainability with more than 95 per cent of businesses trading after two years as opposed to 50 per cent without support.
 
An ERDF funded Ad: Venture business growth support programm has recently been launched by the university, it's aim is to help early stage businesses to accelerate their growth and provide free support to high growth businesses less than three years old. 
 
Leeds Becket University Enterprise and Innovation Manager Katie Rigarlsford said: "Leeds Beckett University operate a network of University Business Centres that are home to over 230 businesses. Businesses based within our centres can benefit from flexible and affordable office services as well as access a wide range of university support and expertise. Our support to early stage businesses is proven to almost double business survival rates". 
 
"We plan to open a new University Business Centre at piece Mill in the centre of Halifax from the summer and look forward to opening our doors and welcoming business into the centre. It will offer free business lounge facilities, as well as access to business advice and mentoring, professional training and development, knowledge transfer and research expertise, and access to skilled graduates."
